But, we did want to provide you with a backstory to eliminate any confusion. We are a group of young, but mostly old guys, that live in and around Southern Pines, North Carolina. Over the past several years or so, we’ve all taken up wood chopping. We rise with the sun on Saturday mornings, chop wood together, make deliveries, or maybe even head out to somebody’s farm in the middle of somewhere to inspect a fallen tree that they’d like to donate.
We also believe that Jesus is working in the midst of all this Saturday morning tomfoolery to deliver hope and healing to children on an island on the other side of the world, in the Northeast corner of Lake Victoria in Kenya. Our concept is simple, though unusual: we chop firewood for fun, you call us, we deliver it, all without a transaction. Then, we leave the rest up to you. Our hope is that you would learn more about the life-changing, gospel-centered work that is going on at Gethsemane Garden Christian Centre and make a donation, sponsor a child, or really just do whatever you can to make a difference.
